Read this first

Don’t run this as it stands: read the rules and change the format first. The rules
Don't run it as a percentage prize.

Before

If you want a cash prize, fix it in advance (e.g. $250) and run a normal Class 1/2 raffle.
Print the cash prize amount on the tickets and posters like any other prize.
Keep the 20% rule: a $250 cash prize allows up to $1,250 of tickets printed.
If you still want a true 50/50, ask DIA in writing first (gambling@dia.govt.nz, 0800 257 887).

On the day

Count the float with two people before you open, and write the total down.

After

Count the takings in pairs and bank them within a day or two.
Thank donors, sponsors and helpers, by name where they’re happy with that.
Tell supporters what you raised and what it will pay for.

Watch out for

Copying US 50/50 kits and online 50/50 platforms.

A percentage prize is not recommended in NZ: lottery prizes must be fixed and stated at point of sale. Run a fixed-cash-prize Class 1 or 2 raffle instead, or get DIA's written view first.
