Silent auction kit

Enter the items once. Print a bid sheet for each, a plain set of terms for the table, and download a winners register for pay-up and collection.

Running the auction on its own or alongside a dinner? See the silent auction and live auction idea pages. An auction is a sale to the highest bidder, so there’s no draw and no luck involved, and the terms keep it that way.

The auction

Printed on every sheet unless an item says otherwise.

Items

One bid sheet per item. Pick a starting bid low enough that someone bids early: an empty sheet puts others off.

Silent auction terms

  1. Bids are in New Zealand dollars. Write your name, phone or email, and your bid on the next empty line. Each bid must be at least the minimum raise above the line before it.
  2. Bidding closes at the time on each sheet. The highest valid bid on the sheet when it closes wins the item.
  3. Winners pay on the night, before the item leaves the room. We take cash, card or bank transfer.
  4. Collect your item on the night, once it’s paid for.
  5. All sales are final: no returns or refunds. Items are described by their donors in good faith, and retail values are the donors’ own figures.
  6. Vouchers, services and experiences carry the donor’s own terms, including expiry dates and booking conditions. Read the sheet before you bid.
  7. The organisers may withdraw an item, correct a mistake on a sheet, or close bidding early or late, and will tell bidders if that happens. If a bid can’t be read or breaks the minimum raise, the organisers will decide which bid stands.
  8. Buying at auction is a purchase, not a donation, even if you pay more than retail value, so no donation receipt is issued.

We collect your name and phone or email only to contact the winning bidder. We won’t use them for anything else or share them, and we’ll delete them after the auction.
