Red Cross NZ: a sizzle typically runs 9.00am-4.30pm in 2-hour shifts, and 'most locations require at least three volunteers to be present at all times'. So 3 per shift is the floor and 4 is comfortable. A full day is 3 to 4 shifts, so 10 to 16 shift slots. Add 1 set-up helper in the first hour and 1 pack-down helper in the last hour. A live NZ PTA roster for Bunnings Glenfield used 3 shifts of about 2.5 to 3 hours, each with 4 slots (take orders, cook, assemble, take money). Volunteer listings say under-16s must be with an adult, and 13 to 17-year-olds may serve and take money but not cook. Store rules vary, so check yours. The cashier must not handle food (Red Cross). Bring a float of at least $50 in coins (Red Cross). Two people count the takings.
